Moving in & out

Everyone moving in or out has a meeting with the Management Committee to go over the society’s rules and regulations. The manager will help you schedule it.

Notice and deposit

• Submit a notice of moving in or out at least 8–10 days in advance.
• A deposit of Rs 10,000 is collected for each move in or move out.
• It is refunded after the office or supervisor certifies there was no damage or nuisance, less a compulsory Rs 2,000 supervision charge.
• Any damage to lifts or common property, or littering of landings and lobbies, is recovered from the member concerned.

Allowed timings

• No moving on Sundays, national holidays or society holidays.
• Trucks and moving teams are not allowed in the society:
  • before 8 am
  • between 2 pm and 4 pm
  • after 9 pm
• In genuine emergencies, moving outside these hours or on holidays may be allowed with the society office’s prior approval. A convenience charge then applies, as set by the General Body resolution at the 2013 AGM.

Using the lifts

• All items to be moved by lift must be approved by the society office before loading. Loading is done under office supervision.
• Lifts are mainly for residents to reach their homes, so they cannot be blocked for moving.
• Luggage and small household items can go in the lifts. Large furniture and appliances cannot. See the lift rules.

Trucks

• Trucks must not block the driveways while loading or unloading.

The Management Committee’s decision is final in all such matters.
